5 Ideas On How To Preserve Your Wedding Bouquet

Your wedding day is one of the memorable moments that you would like to remember forever. If you could only keep it and relive it over and over, I bet you would have already done that. Make sure to hire a photographer and videographer to document your wedding and capture every moment. This is one way to preserve your wedding day memories. You’ll be surprised by the emotions that will rush through your body when you finally watch the videos from your wedding.

Another thing from your wedding that you can preserve is your wedding bouquet. Yes, you’ve read it right. You’ll definitely fall in love with your gorgeous bouquet. But appreciating its beauty doesn’t need to last for a few days only. With its sentimental value, it deserves to be preserved for a long time.

1. Dry your whole bouquet.

This is probably the easiest and simplest way to preserve flowers. Hang your bouquet upside down in a cool, dry place for a few weeks. Hanging it upside down is important so you can ensure that they dry in the proper position. If you dry them in an upright position, the stems will bend as it dries and will result in an awkward look for your flowers. It will seem like the flowers are looking down. You can simply use a rubber band tied on a clothes hanger to hang the bouquet.

Once the bouquet has already dried, you can put them in a vase as a decor or you can have it framed and displayed at your home.

2. Press your flowers.

Another simple way to preserve your bouquet, which you might have already done in the past, is by pressing. You will need a heavy book, like an atlas or phonebook, and wax paper. First, choose the flowers that you would like to dry from your bouquet. Spread them out on the wax paper and arrange them based on how you want them to look when they have dried. Make sure that you’ve decided on their final look before pressing them as it would be difficult to manipulate the flowers once they have dried and flattened.

Insert the wax paper with the flowers between the pages of the book and cover the flowers with another wax paper before closing the book. This will ensure that the flowers will be free from ink and will also keep the flowers from staining the pages of the book. Weight it down with something heavy or put them below a pile of other books. Leave them for seven to ten days. Once dried, you can have it framed for better appreciation.

3. Preserve them in an epoxy resin.

Not a fan of framed decors or dried flowers in a vase? Doing an epoxy resin art is a unique way to preserve your flowers. It can become a sculptural piece of art or a simple paperweight. What’s great about preserving flowers in an epoxy resin is that you can unleash your creativity. You can customize its shape depending on the mold that you will be using.

Fill the mold halfway with the epoxy resin and arrange the flowers however you want. After putting the flowers, fill it with resin until the top and let it dry. Once dried, remove the mold and voila – you already have a piece of art that showcases the beauty of your wedding bouquet. Just make sure to make this epoxy resin art while the flowers are still looking vibrant and fresh. This is for your wedding flowers to look blooming forever.

4. Dip your bouquet in wax.

Another way to preserve your wedding bouquet is by dipping it in wax. Melt the paraffin wax in a saucepan with boiling water until it becomes smooth. Lower the heat so the wax mixture slightly cools down. Then, gently dip the flowers into the wax solution and immediately pull them out. Hand them upside down until dry.

This method makes your flowers look almost the same as fresh flowers, keeping its original color intact. However, dipping in wax will not permanently preserve them. It will just extend the life of your wedding bouquet for up to six months. So if you just want to appreciate the beauty of your wedding bouquet for a few more months, this method can be your option.

5. Have them painted.

Having it painted is one way to cherish your wedding bouquet forever. Although the actual flowers won’t be preserved, it is still a lovely way to preserve their original look and remind you of all the beautiful memories you had with that wedding bouquet. Make sure you set arrangements with your preferred artist even before your wedding day. This is for you to be able to hand over your bouquet to the artist immediately after your wedding day to ensure that it is still fresh and beautiful in time for painting it.

Your wedding day is one of your memories in life that you want to cherish forever. If you are getting married soon, take time to think about the things from your wedding that you would like to preserve. Those sentimental pieces can serve as a reminder of your and your partner’s love for each other forever.

How To Keep Your Wedding Guests Happy | Utah Announcements

How To Keep Your Wedding Guests Happy

Your wedding should be all about you and your partner. After all, it is you and your partner who’s getting married. In fact, everything on the wedding preparation puts the bride and groom first. Is this what you want? Is this your preferred motif? Is the venue memorable to you? What type of invitation do you want?

You must have read about all the tips and tricks to make sure that your wedding will be perfect for you. But you must not forget about the other important people during your wedding – your guests.

Here are some of the things that you can do to keep your wedding guests happy:

1. Set up a drinks area.

Once the ceremony is over, it’s now the time that most of your wedding guests look forward to – the reception. This is your time to keep your guests entertained and happy. But transitioning from the ceremony area to the wedding venue can make your guests “hangry”. The ceremony will probably take an hour or two. And before they can formally enter the reception area, there will be a bit of waiting time due to some photo ops and registrations to find their designated seats.

Don’t let them get hungry. Set up a drinks area for some pre-dinner snacks. A few pastries and some bottles of soda will keep them occupied until they are finally able to proceed to their seats.

2. Think about the seating plan.

It might feel exciting that your friends from different phases of your life will finally be able to get together. It can also be tempting to do some matchmaking out of your friends. However, letting your friends from different circles sit together is totally a bad idea. They might feel left out. Reserve the matchmaking session for your night outs. Your friends and family would just want to catch up with their circle and watch both of you live one of the best days of your life.

3. Keep speeches short and sweet.

Wedding speeches are touching and it is something that both the bride and groom look forward to on their special day. It is done by someone who is very close to the couple which sometimes leads to a quite long speech especially when you have a very long love story. When you ask your maid-of-honor or best man to do the speech for your wedding, tell them to keep it short and sweet. No matter how interesting your story is, you will eventually lose the attention of your guests if you make it too long.

4. Give away favors that they will use.

Believe it or not, wedding favors take up a bunch of the wedding budget. So why would you spend money on something that will just get stuck and collect dust in your guests’ cupboard. Let’s face it, people wouldn’t care much about those little home decor with your initials on it. Opt for wedding favours that they will use. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Simple personalized mugs or totes will do. Who would leave those behind if they have their names on it, right?

5. Set up an open bar or soda bar.

A celebration wouldn’t be complete without some alcohol. Your guests will thank you for the overflowing drinks that will keep the fun going throughout the night. Serving drinks during your “after party” will also give your guests a chance to socialize with other guests outside their own circle. You might finally have a chance to play matchmaker on your friends! They will love you for being generous for the free drinks and if the matchmaking becomes successful, you and your friends might end up attending another wedding.

6. Allocate a kids’ area.

If your guests are bringing their kids with them, it’s a good idea to have some plans on how to keep them entertained. You wouldn’t want a bunch of kids running around your reception area while the program is ongoing. It would also be a hassle for your guests if they have to keep on looking after their kids. How would they enjoy the open bar? The answer is to allocate a kids’ area. Set up a booth with children’s activities – coloring books, painting, bubbles, and other entertainment that will keep them from running around the venue all the time.

7. Play songs that will make them groove.

Make it a great party by playing songs that will make your guests groove. Hire a DJ and ask him/her to play your favorite songs. Add a few wedding classics and pop hits to get everyone on the dance floor. To make your guests feel involved, when they respond to your RSVP, you can also ask them to give song suggestions. They’ll surely feel excited when they hear the song they’ve requested.

Your guests made an effort, so you should, too!

Remind yourself that they’ve also allotted their time for you. Some of them might have taken time off from work, have traveled far, invested in new clothes, or bought you a lovely gift. They made an effort to join you on this special occasion and celebrate with you. So make sure that your guests also have a great time at your wedding

But for the groom, you might also have the same question: what does the groom need in preparation for the wedding?

We are here to provide you with the pre-wedding preparation tips for the groom-to-be:

1. Pick the perfect suit.

Like any occasion, it all starts with the outfit. Pick a suit that fits you best. Aside from being able to complement your wedding’s overall motif, make sure you get a well-fitted suit that enhances your body features.

Pick a suit that has the right fabric for the season. You wouldn’t want to be too hot or too cold at your wedding ceremony. Consider the venue and style of your wedding.

2. Opt for a clean look.

Aside from a well-fitted suit, there’s nothing like a good haircut to keep you look sharp. Make sure to do this a week before your wedding day. This will give you time to regrow your hair and make necessary adjustments in case it doesn’t turn out how you want it to be. It would be best to visit your reliable hairstylist so he knows what type of haircut will complement the shape of your face.

Also, use this appointment as an opportunity to have your beard trimmed. Nothing beats a clean look for you to look fresh on your wedding day.

3. Get enough sleep and eat properly.

More than all the external preparations that the groom needs, getting enough sleep and eating properly will make sure you’ll look well-rested on your wedding day. You wouldn’t want to have dark circles around your eyes during your special day.

Refrain from having game nights and late-night movies. Eat a balanced diet of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meat. Drink plenty of water. Aside from making you look good, these will definitely make you feel great on your big day.

4. Spend some “me” time.

Your wedding day will be a busy day. You might not have the time for yourself for the entire day. You’ll be surrounded by family and friends, you are expected to be festive, and this might make you feel nervous and overwhelmed.

Before your wedding day, spend some alone time. This will help you feel relaxed and prepare for your big day.

5. Write little love notes.

Wedding planning can be stressful. To lighten the mood and lessen the stress, write little love notes to your bride. A simple “I love you” can go a long way. This will also build up and intensify your romantic feelings towards each other in time for your wedding day.

Prepare yourself for a forever adventure. There is really no amount of preparation that can make you completely ready for this big change in your life. What’s really important are your feelings and intentions for your partner. You’ll be facing this new chapter together. No matter what happens, you just need each other more than anything else.

5 Easy Ways to Cut Wedding Costs | How To Cut Wedding Costs

5 Ways To Cut Wedding Costs

When you were a kid, you might have already dreamt of your future wedding. You have probably already imagined how you’ll be walking down the aisle. We’re pretty sure you’ve always had a picture in your mind on how you would like your special day to be. You are free to dream big. We all know you deserve the perfect wedding. But when reality hits, you’ll realize that everything should be based on your budget and it should be one of the first things that you need to consider when planning your wedding.

Fortunately, keeping your wedding costs down doesn’t mean that you also need to downgrade the quality of your wedding. We’re here to provide you with 5 ways to cut wedding costs without compromising the elegance of your big day.

1. Cut down the number of guests.

One of the main things that you can do to keep your wedding budget down is to minimize your guest list. Invite your family and closest friends only. You do not need to invite the barista who became your and your partner’s acquaintance due to your frequent visit to your favorite coffee shop. Your wedding is a special day for you and your partner so you wouldn’t want it to be attended by people whom you barely know.

Always remember that for every additional headcount, that entails an added invitation, meal allocation, extra booze, and many more. Keeping your guests into a minimum will significantly lessen your expenses.

2. Cut the cake early.

You are probably thinking how this will be able to help you cut down your wedding cost. But this hack will save a few hundred bucks. How? It’s simple. Cutting the cake is usually done during the last part of the reception and is also the last major happening in the program. After this, people are usually just enjoying their dessert, drinking, or socializing on the dance floor.

If you cut the cake at a later time, your photographer and videographer would have to stay longer which means longer hours to pay. If you cut the cake early, they’ll be able to capture this important moment early and leave the reception one to two hours earlier.

3. Skip the wedding favors.

Another thing that significantly affects your wedding cost is the wedding favors. Imagine having to give out a wedding favor to each of your guests. Although you are able to cut down the number of your guests, wedding favors for each of them are still a lot. If you skip this portion, you get to save a lot. Or opt to give out simple and affordable wedding favors that will be useful to your guests.

In most cases, wedding favors are just items that your guests bring home after your party and eventually throw out. Because what will they do with some trinket with your wedding date carved on it? Even if they don’t throw it out, it will probably just collect dust in their cupboard. Most importantly, they went to your wedding for you and not for the goodies.

4. Do it yourself.

This is a basic money-saving tip for almost every occasion. If you can do it yourself, why hire someone else to do it? This will literally save you a lot of money. But it will also require more time and patience.

You can start with the simple things like the decorations in your reception. Keep in mind that  although you won’t be spending for a supplier, you still need to take into consideration the amount of money that you will need to spend on the things that you need for your projects.

5. Hire local suppliers.

Our last tip will benefit not only you and your partner but also the small business owners in your area. Before you even go far, look around your area. Ask friends and family for recommendations. Find reliable partners within your area or in the location of your wedding. If you hire suppliers within your wedding location, it will lessen your costs for logistics.

By hiring local suppliers instead of well-known wedding vendors, you get to save money as well as support local businesses.

Not everything is necessary.

We all know that you want to have all the necessary things (or so you think) for your wedding. After all, it just happens once in your life. But when you actually assess and think about it, you’ll realize that not all of these are necessary. When you take your budget into consideration, you will definitely identify which items are really important. Some are just added expenses which, honestly, won’t affect your wedding even if you leave them out.

All of these are just material things. What’s essential in your wedding is the fact that you are getting married to the one you love – and that’s what makes it perfect.
